Founder and CEO of Inspire Youth Initiative visits Start-Rite Secondary School

Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) helps to give students the knowledge, skills, and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy and independent lives. It aims to help them understand how they are developing personally and socially, tackling many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up. As part of their PSHE Studies, students were pleased to have Nafisa Haliru, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Inspire Youth Initiative, share her life experiences on Thursday, 21st March 2019.

Nafisa, a Final Year Student of Law at Igbinedion University, founded the Inspire Youth Initiative while in secondary school to reach out to, inspire and empower underprivileged youths, raising them to be active, dynamic and purpose-driven change agents. As a promising young Law Student, Nafisa already has numerous achievements to her name. She is currently on the Vice Chancellor's List for Academic Excellence and a recipient of the Igbinedion University Law Students Association (LAWSA) Award for Most Influential Student 2018 among others.

Miss Haliru encouraged the students to do better in their studies, aim higher in life and reach for the impossible. Sharing her life experiences prompted the students to ask deep questions about focus in school, discouragement among peers, encouraging oneself and speaking up for what they believe in.

She concluded by encouraging the students to live a life without fear of achieving their dreams and told them to ensure they strive to keep a school-life balance.
