Founded in 1991, The Bells Comprehensive Secondary Schools (one for boys, one for girls and one for day) are spread across sixty-five (65) acres of undulating landscape on Idiroko Road in Ota, Ogun State.
The school is founded on the premise that “no child is unteachable”. That is why students come to The Bells from all over Nigeria and abroad.
Ota, an industrial town, shares boundary with Lagos and is easily accessible from all parts of the country by road. It is under an hour’s drive from Murtala Muhammed Local and International Airports in Ikeja, Lagos.
Students are accommodated in comfortable boarding houses with facilities for about one thousand five hundred (1, 500) students.
The methodology of education at The Bells Schools is child oriented. Each student is seen as unique, and the best teaching methods for individual students are deployed. This demands dedication and total involvement and commitment by the educator. Students with academic challenges have their needs met at THE BELLS. We introduce our students to enjoying and understanding nature and the world around them. Every Bells student is permitted to fully develop his/her potential without undue hindrances. A well rounded and comprehensive educational system produces a balanced student using three domains: affective, psychomotor and cognitive. This produces balanced and well-equipped youths who have the best chance of becoming matured and responsible students. They will grow into citizens who can confidently use relevant modern technology, methodology and artistry to contribute their unique and blooming abilities in uplifting the environment. They will become persons who can live harmoniously with both the human and physical environment. Because of our goals for the students, only qualified teachers with solid years of experience are employed at The Bells.
We not only use audio-visual teaching aids, we also recognize students’ participation as the bedrock of the teaching and learning process. Our teachers’ attention focuses on monitoring the progress of the students with close observation and regular counseling.
Our assessment has been designed based on continuous holistic approach; not targeted towards SSCE, JSCE and UME examinations alone. We also groom students for the SAT, Cambridge IGCSE and TOEFL International Examinations.
Children who are free from adult biases learn and retain. These children ask honest and open questions. They perceive quickly and clearly. Such confident children whose innate abilities are not inundated with rigid learning can handle any subject easily. Thus our students pass their JSCE, SSCE, UME or International Examinations well.
