STEP 2
The prospective pupils sit for entrance examination and admission is offered into different Year Groups based on the performance and age of the pupils.

After School Programme
We offer after-school services in the form of reinforcement of classroom lessons, engagement in further studies and monitoring of children's homework. It is open to any child in the school and runs from 3:00pm to 4:30pm from Monday to Thursday.

Curriculum

The Primary Curriculum
It is based on the child – how he or she thinks, learns and communicates. It is concerned with helping children ask questions, seeks answers and solve problems. It is a broad curriculum planned to suit the needs of individual children. Our curriculum reflects the new direction in education and advancement in global development. This is our definition of a fully Integrated International Curriculum.

The Preschool and Nursery Curriculum
In the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, there are six early learning Goals:
1• Personal, Social and Emotional Development:
Including dispositions and attitudes, self-confidence and self-esteem, behaviour and self-control, self-care and sense of community.

2• Communication, Language and Literacy:
Including language for communication, language for thinking, sounds and letters, reading, writing and handwriting.

3• Mathematical Development:
Including numbers as labels and for counting, calculating shape, space and measures.

4• Knowledge and Understanding of the World: Including exploration and investigation, designing and skills, information and communication technology, a sense of time, a sense of place, cultures and beliefs.

5• Physical Development:
Including skills in movement, sense of space, health and bodily awareness, using tools and equipment.

6• Creative Development:
Including exploring media and materials, music, imagination and responding, expressing and communicating ideas.

Mrs. Mabel Ogaraku

Designation: Head of School
Mrs Mabel Ogaraku is a seasoned and passionate educational professional with over 25 years experience. She began her teaching career as a class teacher at Kemeesther Nursery/Primary School, Surulere, Lagos in 1989. She joined Corona Schools in 1991 and served in various capacities such as Class teacher, Supervisor, Acting Head of School and Deputy Head; a position she held until her resignation in 2007. She became one of the pioneer team of Imperial Gate School in October, 2007 as the Head of Academics / Administration. She was later appointed as the Head of School in March, 2010.

Her educational experiences have given her the opportunity to collaborate with diverse group of people to achieve a shared goal of equipping pupils with the knowledge and skills required to navigate through life. Her philosophy is based on her conviction that all pupils can learn, given a positive learning environment, a committed and focused educational team, a supportive family and an encouraging community.

She is an alumnus of Lagos Business School and the University of Roehampton, UK. She holds the Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE), Bachelor Degree in Education (BED) and Master Degree in Educational Leadership. She attended the Senior Managers Programme (SMP 45) at the Lagos Business School and has participated in several seminars locally and internationally. She is a member of the Association of International Schools Educators of Nigeria.
