Our Mission The child is the centre piece of our activities. Our mission is to produce all round education to our children in the “Obiye Unique style”, a range of innovative methods of conveying our message of producing only the best, by utilizing effective technology, the best trained teachers and most of all working with the power of love which inculcates strength, patience, and most of all the gift and art of teaching.
Science enable children learn the world around them. At Obiye, we expose our learners to vital skills such as problem solving, inquiry and research and also guide them to make real world connections that affect their learning.
Phonics and reading
We are very keen to make our learners read texts within their grade level at a very young age. To achieve this feat, we introduce to them the phonemic awareness using the ORT reading program, graphemes, and so much more.
Our learners are exposed to the art of making music, rhyme and dance; colour and water splashes are fun activities they engage in to improve their creative skills.
Practical life exercises
PLE provide opportunities for our learners to develop their motor skills and gain control in the coordination of their movement, in order for them to gain independence. Our learners learn how to do living activities in purposeful ways.
Reading and Writing
‘Once you learn to read you will be forever free’ Fredrick Douglas
Reading and writing has a special place in our curriculum. Learners are taught to decode, deduce, infer and draw conclusions from leveled passages. Writing short stories, poems and reviewing books is core to our English curriculum. Our library with its different collection of books is designed to encourage a love for books in our kids. Our homework policy takes this culture into the homes.

Obiye High operates a hybrid curriculum comprising of The British Curriculum, the Nigerian Curriculum and the American Curriculum. The students write the Checkpoint, BECE, IGCSE, SAT, TOEFL, SSCE (WAEC) at various levels.
Beyond the mainstream academic activities that prepare learners for examinations, our curriculum includes all school-directed activities (i.e project works, education tours, etc). Development of the whole child is encouraged. Activities are included that allow children to learn in their preferred learning styles: linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, musical, kinaesthetic, interpersonal and intrapersonal. New ways of learning, including interaction and involvement of all the senses are explored through a balance of self-directed and teacher-directed activities.
